Running a little hotel in the southwestern town of Magellan, Janet is used to the occasional problem that requires a plumber or an electrician. But what begins with a leaky faucet in room number 6 leads to a terrifying warning: You are doomed.
Soon a powerful hex traps Janet in the hotel with her friends and her lover, Mick, a biker with the power to shift into a dragon--and the power to calm the raging storm magic inside her. While the close quarters stir a passion between them, they must focus their energy on the impending dangers from outside the hotel--and the ones within...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Novella!
Verified PurchaseOkay, first off: I used to live right in the area that Jennifer Ashley uses as the backdrop for Janet, Mick and the guys. And it DOES feel like a very magickal area. Also, as Janet and I both ride Harleys, is half Navajo (Dine, please) and half goddess (as am I and EVERY woman) HOW can this book NOT be a great read, I ask you?! It certainly has some surprises and Jennifer has truly succeeded in that, when you start reading this novelette, you CAN NOT put it down until you have finished reading the story - and how cool is that?! Truly, I have been WAITING for another installment in the Stormwalker series Jen! the HECK with the other series! My grrl has felt neglected and Mick is PISSED, Coyote is off the res, typically alternating between licentious humor, bouts of withdrawl and only a god can get there to lift him out of it - or an available woman. And, when she finishes making sparks happen, if Maya can't see Nash, she's going to combust, trying, as usual, to patch up things between them! Poor Cassandra at the front desk is just a MESS and Fremont our handyman fixer of all? Well, Freemont is trying to fix EVERYTHING and, he somehow does...
Whew! I get out of breath easy, these days, and I'm finished chattering as I have my own work to get back to sooo GET THIS BOOK!

4.0 out of 5 stars Novella About Janet and All Her Friends Trapped in Her Hotel by an Evil Spell
Verified Purchase"That was my MIck. Forgiving me for turning into a crazy, murderous, insulting bitch who'd just tried to kill him. Times like these kept a relationship strong."
FINAL DECISION: A book that takes all the main characters from the series and traps them in the hotel, this book ups the drama and the angst from the main series. Everything is condensed to good effect.
THE STORY: Janet Begay is a half-Navajo, half-underworld goddess with the power to control storms. She also runs a hotel in the Southwest. When her hotel is hexed, Janet along with her friends are trapped in the hotel. Cassandra, a witch believes that her past has caught up with her and she is the reason the hotel has been hexed.
OPINION: I enjoyed this book because it has all the good aspects of a Stormwalker book but everything has been condensed. Janet's concerns about her powers, her love for her friends. The quirky personalities of the series cast of characters, the intense relationship between Janet and Mick, a weird paranormal mystery and serious action and danger. Sometimes novellas don't accurately represent the tone or pace of the series, but this one does very well.
WORTH MENTIONING: This novella has a full storyline with a lot of drama and angst for such a short story.
CONNECTED BOOKS: DOUBLE HEXED is book 2.5 of the Stormwawlkers series. It can be read as a standalone another many of the nuances of relationships between the characters will be lost without the background of the other books.
STAR RATING: I give this novella 4 stars.
